Luna
Luna and her brother Neptune were living in an unfortunate situation and were kindly surrendered to VSDR. They were vetted on intake and Luna was treated for an ear infection. Luna seems to be timid, shy, and a little nervous of her surroundings. She is starting to kennel and potty train and focusing on having positive interactions with dogs and people to build confidence. She is unphased by the cat and uninterested in getting to know it. Luna is also doing well in training! She is learning to sit and getting comfortable with having her own space. Leucistic or “albino” Dobermans require some special care to keep them healthy. Their eyes are extremely sensitive to light so they must wear dog goggles when in the sun for more than a few minutes at a time. They also are much more likely to get skin cancer so using sunscreen and dog t-shirts to block the sun when outdoors as well as regular skin checks are essential.
